I Heart Faces has a great themed challenge this week – textures!

 I love the warmth and depth that comes from adding a little richness of color, and the change in mood and feeling that textures can bring to a photo.  The range of possibilities is endless, the palette everchanging.  It’s a great way to express one’s self as a photographer, adding a uniqueness that’s fun to experiment with.

Two weeks ago I posted photos of Abby’s sister, Katie, on the blog with a promise to post Abby as well.  She’s every bit as sweet as Katie – kind, quiet, and oh-so-delightful to work with.  As she turned her beautiful blue eyes towards the camera I knew had captured something special.

We Are Family!!

I photographed a wonderful family recently – they were fun, spontaneous and up for just about anything.  I loved these young girls, and if they take after their totally awesome Mom and sweet loving Dad, then life is surely going to be perfect!

From inside the Disney Wedding Pavilion all was hushed as the guests waited for the bride.  “Listen,” some one said.  “Look,” said another.  There in the distance was Cinderella’s glass carriage being pulled by six tiny white ponies, and inside was a radiant Jennifer – living her dream of a fairytale Disney wedding.  Also, watching and waiting was Frank, her groom, her prince, her best friend.

Yes, it was bitter cold and it was raining – still.  But nothing was going to dampen the spirits of this wedding!  Their princess was on her way and everyone was waiting to see how this Disney magical wedding would unfold. 

From the moment Wagner’s Bridal Chorus was played by costumed trumpeters to the four canons shooting long colored streamers during the recessional, nothing about this wedding would be ordinary!  After all, how many brides and grooms have their rings delivered during the ceremony by a majordomo with a glass slipper (holding said rings) on a crimson velvet and gold tasseled pillow?  And he’s wearing a powdered wig and tights!!

I enjoyed every moment of Jennifer and Frank’s wedding and I hope you enjoy the images below – a mere sampling of all that a Disney Fairytale Wedding has to offer!

These are the guys responsible for the Bridal Chorus during Jennifer’s walk down the aisle.  They also musically announced the bride and groom as they left the chapel and entered the reception.  Isn’t that fun?

This is the inside of the Disney   Wedding Pavilion.  The view through window behind the altar is straight over the lake to Cinderella’s Castle.

And yes…even Donald and Daisy Duck showed up and waltzed Jennifer and Frank around the dance floor!

And they lived happily ever after!!

Katie and her sister, Abby arrived like softly spoken whispers; sweet, feminine, and delightful!  The two girls, along with Mom and Dad, made their way around the park with me; laughing, playing, and pretty much being the perfect family of four.  I had a great time photographing them, and if laughter is the measure of a successful afternoon, we hit the jackpot.

Katie owns the post today – next time it’s Abbey and family.

In celebtation of their first birthday, I Heart Faces is kicking off a brand new contest.  The rules are simple;  incorporate their logo into a photograph, hopefully achieving something realistic and clever.  Oh, and the photograph must have a face in it.  The prize is a Tamron lens which would be a nice addition to my camera bag!  

Ian and I had fun with this challenge and he was a really great sport.   I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!

I, Robin McQuay Anderson, am submitting this photo into the I Heart Faces logo photo contest. By entering, I am granting I Heart Faces LLC permission to consider my photo for use in the marketing and promotion of this website.

The late afternoon was hot – super hot.  The bugs were out, the sun was strong, and the humidity was soaring.  And there was John Paul, dressed, handsome, and just waiting to smile for me. 

I’ve been blessed in meeting such wonderful kids and delightful families, and John Paul rises to the top with the best of them.  If  I needed help carring my equipement, he was there for me.  If I needed him for just 10 more minutes in a different location, he was running there first with his beautiful boyish grin in place.  But, not only did he show me his all-boy playful side, but he allowed me to glimpse into his sweet and soulful side too.

I had a fun time with this awesome young man and since he’s my neighbor, I’ll be seeing a lot more of him as he grows from a “great boy” into “great young man.”

With sand in my toes, gentle breezes in my hair, and the quiet surf rolling on shore, I loved every moment of the Delray Beach shoot with my daughter, Connor and her 3 week old daughter, Clara Louise.  The happiness that radiated from both mother and child was truly…bliss.

As the setting sun changed the sky from blue to gold and finally to peach, we marveled at our good fortune in having this special evening together.  When so much of our family was shoveling snow, we were brushing the sand from our jeans and heading back down the beach.  What a great way to spend the Christmas weekend.

Happy New Year and I wish everyone a bit more….bliss!

Text messages to be sent, pictures to be taken, hugs to be given, prayers of thankfulness to be whispered…life was reshaping itself gloriously moment by moment.

Blessed to be the grandmother of our family’s newest miracle, I arrived with camera in hand ready to shoot through my own tears of joy.  And here she is, the Christmas present we all were waiting for.
